Surftrackr is a newly-released program which aims to make it as easy as possible for you to monitor your Squid or Dan's Guardian web proxy. It takes the difficult-to-read data from your proxy logfiles, and converts it into web-based lists of users, computers, websites and web-pages.
Surftrackr is flexible, easy-to-use and powerful. My ambition is to make it the premier tool for proxy logfile analysis, and (judging from feedback and use) it's on its way to becoming just that.
It runs on Windows or Linux and uses the Django web framework. It is accessed via a web browser, and can integrate with your existing network using LDAP or any other Apache authentication scheme. It can be run as a single-user or multi-user application, and you can define varying levels of access for your admin users.
Surftrackr is free software which is licensed under the GNU General Public Licence, version 3. It was created by me, Simon Burns, a web programmer and designer living in Bridport, UK. You can contact me by email if you have any feedback or suggestions about Surftrackr. I am also available for freelance work in the web development arena.
